Regional Sales Manager - Electrical Wholesaler

We are going through an exciting period of growth and onboarding of a number of experienced Regional Sales Managers with connections in the Electrical Wholesaler market. Each will manage their own region and have strong people and sales leadership background for these two important positions - Midlands (West and East Midlands) and Southern (London, Bristol, Southampton) 
We are looking for creative, driven and organised people to add to our already strong team to assist with the step change in sales and market share across the UK.  Also critical is providing first class service to our clients with constant liaison with our Customer Services and Operations colleagues.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Boost sales of existing products and market share growth 
  • Launch a range of new products into a crowded market, with the aim to become a significant player
  • Negotiate local branch agreements and larger projects as well as trading agreements
  • Develop brand new customer relationships for the business as well as maintaining existing ones
  • Work closely with wider sales team for cross-selling opportunities
  • Regular customer contact and visits
  • Coordinate customer meetings, along with internal reporting and follow ups
  • Comprehensive cross-functional involvement e.g. manufacturing, forecasting, market insights, customer services and supporting new products


You will also need to: 

  • Increase sales in % and £ margin within area
  • Sell multiple products to existing and new customers. 
  • Implement detailed and effective sales plans that facilitate penetration with existing and new customers.
  • Maximise sales and new opportunities based on market data and in line with current and up to date sales practices 
  • Have strong time management skills to prioritise large regions and diverse clients
  • Provide reports on sales activity, forecasting and performance. 
  • Keep up to date with the current market and competitors in your region and the industry.


This role would suit people who have a committed approach, are entrepreneurial, and motivated by the prospect of being a significant member of a sales team influencing the growth of our business. As a Regional Sales Manager within our team we would require someone with a previous experience within a commercial environment of no less than 3 years, with an existing network at branch and or regional level within the electrical wholesales markets.  A background in electrical cables and or products that relate to cables & accessories would be advantageous but not essential. Other product lines sold into these sectors will also be considered.  Previous experience in leading a team with a track record of proven solid results would also be advantageous.
 

You will need to plan and prepare customer visits, have a Full Driving License. All of the relevant tools required to perform your tasks will be provided, and in return you can expect to receive market related benefits in line with a first class manufacturer.
